Super Furry Animals – RTE session

2 songs here from SFA’s recent 2FM session on the Dan Hegarty show. I think they also played a third and gave an interview but I was recording it on my MP3 player and batteries ran out

Both songs are off their new album “Hey Venus!” and are seriously stripped down to just a guitar and a cheapo keyboard. Its a good example of how to do something different and interesting in a radio session – no less than you’d expect from SFA

Twisting Stones

Baggy also-rans The World of Twist here tackling the Rolling Stones “She’s a rainbow”

The Stones song was originally on their terrible psychedelic detour “Their Satanic Majesties Request” before being hijacked by Apple to sell iMacs.

As for the World of Twist I previously only knew them from being namechecked in a Saint Etienne song and this is still the only track of theirs that I’ve heard. Despite this its a brilliant version
